Fully-Complete Heavyarms Custom, Fully Loaded!!

And finally, my HG Gundam Heavyarms Custom is complete. I managed to find the time to paint and glue together the final parts to complete this model. The final parts that needed completing were the Twin Gatling guns, both of which were not glued together yet, and a little finishing touches to the opened missile packs on the hip, waist, and legs. The Chest Gatling Guns of the mobile suit too lacked any sort of painting when I left it. And when I wanted to continue this model when I came back, I didn't really know where to start. But finally, I started with the twin gatling guns, came up with a quick mixture to paint it, and managed to finish it in less than 4 days. This would be the very first model I actually fully hand-painted, it took a lot of work, but the work paid off. And now, to show you!!

(Above) These were earlier photos I took, but I never uploaded them in the previous post, this was the first few steps before painting, and my second try on using putty to remove seam-lines, the work was messy, I have to admit.

(Above) Both completed legs!

(Above) This is jumping straight to a few days ago, I tried the mixture I came up with, which was for the dark grey on the gatling gun 1 part Medium Grey and 1 part Flat Black, and the colour looked pretty nice for such a simple mixture. The barrels were painted with Metallic Grey.

(Above) The model cleaned up, and by this time, I had also painted the left shoulder armour, the internals by the way, so that I could display the missile pods.

(Above) Tried out having him hold the twin gatling gun.

(Above) Also took the liberty of painting the tips of the barrel in the same Metallic Grey, and it looks awesome!

(Above) There we go, fully-painted! But a bit rough...

The above photos were before I painted all the other parts, mainly the other twin gatling gun, and the opened missile packs. And if you notice, the white armour around the neck in the photos below don't have the black panel-lines anymore, I painted them over, cause it looked a little too messy.

(Above) All weapons ready to fire!! And I just love how Heavyarms looks with all his weapons ready to fire. It almost like art~

(Above) The missile packs on the hip and waist, these ones were the very last to finish.

(Above) The Chest Gatling Guns, all painted in Metallic Grey.

So that's pretty much everything for this model, might be one of the best ones I made this year, but I'm also working on the anime version after finding the model in KL and buying it instantly. Well to sum it up, the mixtures used for this model. The White on the legs and other white parts (1 part Medium Grey, 5 parts Flat White), the Marine Blue for the wrists and other parts (1 part Flat White, 1 part Light Green, 1 part Flat Blue), the Black for the missile packs (1 part Flat White, 3 parts Flat Black), the Grey for the missile pods (Neutral Grey), Dark Grey for hands and joints (Dark Grey), Gold on V-fin, inside the thrusters and shoulder part (Gold Leaf), Twin Gatling Gun Grey (1 part Medium Grey, 1 part Flat Black), Metallic Grey for the thrusters, Gatling Gun barrel, Machine Cannons, Chest Gatling Guns and Vulcan Cannons (all painted Metallic Grey). That's all, finish!!

MG XXXG-01S Shenlong Gundam is now finished!!

I have been working on a model, which I never really mentioned in my previous posts, mainly because I didn't remember to mention it. So my poor Shenlong was built in silence... well, since I always build models in silence anyway, other than the computer playing tunes repeatedly. I've always like the models in the Wing universe, I started liking gundam models from this universe anyway, and apart from Heavyarms which  was always my favourite, I had a small liking for Shenlong. But when I saw Nataku, I liked it even more! Then the MG for this model was announced and immediately I knew I had to get it. Thankfully at that time, my older bro decided in having all five of the Gundam models in Gundam Wing, Wing, Deathscythe, Heavyarms, Sandrock and Shenlong, so I decided in getting Heavyarms and Shenlong for my part in the collection. Anyways, I actually very happy with the model, excellent build quality, the model looks great, nub marks are easily hidden, and it feels pretty solid! I uploaded quite a few photos, enjoy!

(Above) I try not using the stickers and paint on the details for the eyes and sensors instead. I was surprised actually seeing how they turned out to be shiny.

(Above) The model from various angles, I thinned out the panel-lines for the shield by scratching it off with a satay stick, which was sharpened a little. But maybe a little thicker would look good too...

(Above) The pilot, tried as best I can to take a photo of him inside. Hopefully, he is visible, that Wufei.

(Above) Size of the pilot in comparison. I painted his skin using Tamiya Desert Yellow. And it works pretty well, was too lazy to mix paints for such a small amount, no offense Wufei...

(Above) The Dragon Fang!! Might be the actual reason behind me buying this model, though I wanted a little more solid weight on it, it still looks cool!

(Above) The Beam Trident. Its pretty hard to pose the model with it compared to the Dragon Fang.

Well, that's pretty much it. I didn't take any photos for the progress when completing the model, cause I was having too much fun building it, I didn't have the heart to stop in the middle. An awesome model in the end!!
